Comcast is one of the cable television providers operating under several franchise agreements within the cities mentioned on the opening page. FCC regulation require cable television providers to offer a television channel in which the public can access, allowing their television programs to be seen by it's subscribers. These are known as Community Access Channels. We operate three of these channels within Central Contra Costa County with a variety of shows scheduled for your viewing.

Some community governments have made additional arrangements within their franchise agreement, requiring the cable television provider to also make available a production facility and production equipment.

Many cable television providers have taken advantage of having a community access channel, producing programs that may be of interest to their subscribers. These are known as Local Origination programs.

Most community access channels show a Community Billboard during the hours when programs are not shown. Community Billboards can be beneficial to both the cable television provider and the community.
